Police Activity (Sun. Jun 9) In Wrigley Neighborhood Nets Subject On Probation With Arrest Warrant And Allegedly In Possession of Marijuana For Sale

(June 9, 2013) -- There was police activity on Sunday afternoon (Sun. June 9) in the 2200 block of Eucalyptus Ave.

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Aaron Eaton tells LBREPORT.com that at about 3:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Eucalyptus to investigate an audible burglary alarm and when the first officer arrived on scene, he saw a man (adult) running from the area of the alarm.

Believing that the subject may have been involved in criminal activity, the officer gave chase and apprehended the subject a short distance later.

Sgt. Eaton says it was determined that the subject was on felony probation and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officers also gathered sufficient evidence to charge him (booking charge) alleging possession of sales of marijuana, Sgt. Eaton says.

Officers checked the area but couldn't find a victim of a burglary.

Sgt. Eaton says residents wishing to report illegal drug sales occurring in their neighborhood or elsewhere in the City of Long Beach can contact LBPD's Drug Investigation Section at (562) 570-7221. To remain anonymous, visit www.lacrimestoppers.org.
