LBPD Says "Fumigation Burglaries" Taking Place Here And Regionally, Offers Property Owners And Residents These Tips

(June 19, 2014, 9:45 a.m.) -- LBPD says "fumigation burglaries" -- in which suspects enter vacated tented structures and steal valuables including electronics and jeweleries -- are occurring at houses and apartment complexes both locally and regionally. [What are these genius burglars thinking? When a building is being fumigated, toxic chemicals are infused which can be fatal if inhaled.]
LBPD issued a release today (June 19) offering these tips: [LBPD release text] If your residence is being fumigated, be sure to notify your immediate neighbors to be alert and to report suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1 It should also be noted that while a building is being fumigated, it is infused with toxic chemicals, which could be fatal if inhaled. Anyone with information regarding fumigation burglaries is asked to contact the Long Beach Police Department's Burglary Detail at (562) 570-7351.
