UPDATE: LASD Says They've ID'd Shooter, But Made No Arrest; Man Shot To Death While Seated In His Car on Carson St. In Lakewood (Area Near LB Towne Center)

(June 11, 2015, 2:10 p.m.) -- In a release, LASD indicates "Detectives have identified the shooter as a 56-year-old male Hispanic, and resident of Lakewood. No arrest has been made, pending further investigation." Further as we learn it.


(June 11, 2015, 8:05 a.m.) -- A man was found shot to death while seated in his car last night (June 10) on Carson St. in Lakewood basically across the street from LB's "Towne Center."

In an emailed advisory, the L.A. County Steriff's Dept. states:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the 11500 block of Carson Street, Lakewood, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at approximately 11:14 p.m.

Homicide detectives learned that Lakewood Station deputies responded to the call of a gunshot victim. When deputies arrived, they found one male adult suffering from a gunshot wound while he was sitting in the driver's seat of his vehicle.

The male adult was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male adult sustained an unknown injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment and released.

Deputies detained four people at the scene for questioning. All four have been transported to Lakewood Station and are currently being interviewed by Homicide detectives.

There is no suspect information at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
