(June 29, 2015) -- As flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page last night, a man (adult) and a child -- a four year old boy -- were both hit by gunfire tonight in the 1100 block of E. 21st St. (6th Council district.)

Initial information is very sketchy. LBPD responded to the location at about 9:32 p.m.; it found the two victims; the man was hit and wounded; the child has graze wound. Both injuries are described as non-life-threatening..

The double-shooting comes after a 21 year old woman was shot -- and killed -- on June 24 just blocks north of the crime scene in the 1100 block of E. 21st.

In December 4 2014, a man was shot About three blocks south of tonight's crime scene, a man who shot and killed in a fatal drive by shooting (1100 block E. PCH)...who was the nephew of the now-former chair of LB City Hall's now-former Youth & Gang Violence Prevention Task Force.

Within the two hours after the most recent 21st St. shooting, Long Beach had two more shootings: one in WLB the area of Admiral Kidd Park, and another -- a fatal shooting -- in the 700 block of Linden Ave. in the East Village arts district. Details on those separately on LBRPEORT.com.
