The Long Beach Police Department has refused to change their narrative despite evidence, has refused to notify the family of the deceased, and has refused to acknowledge our requests for transparency. UPDATE: In a June 2 update to its release on the officer involved shooting, LBPD states: "The Coroner’s Office is responsible making positive identification and notifying the next of kin. The Coroner’s Office contacted the subject's family on Friday, May 29, 2015." The update follows a May 30 update in which LBPD stated, "The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has completed notification of the next of kin. The suspect has been identified as Feras Morad, 20-years-old, of Woodland Hills." [end UPDATE] Developing.
