(June 9, 2016) -- Democrat incumbent Cong. Alan Lowenthal will face Republican Andrew Whallon in the 47th Congressional district that includes most of Long Beach and reaches to Little Saigon. Congressman Lowenthal received 65.8% on June 7 and Mr. Whallon received 22.1%, with Repub Sanford Kahn receiving 12.0%.
During the primary, Mr. Whallon sought name recognition by associating himself with an effort calling itself the "Long Beach Rebellion" in opposition to LB City Hall's proposed sales tax increase. [Scroll down for further.] |
