(June 23, 2016) -- Following-up on a story flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page on Thursday morning, LBREPORT.com learned on Thursday afternoon (June 23) that LBPD is currently classifying the fatality in the June 22 fire (apartment unit a four-plex, 500 block of West 7th St.) as an "undetermined death" and its investigating is continuing.

UPDATE: LBPD says in a release that its officers responded to a hospital last night (June 22) to assist LBFD after paramedics transported a man (adult) from a residential structure fire in the 500 block of W. 7th St. [LBPD release text] "Officers were advised the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital and had injuries that were suspicious in nature. Long Beach Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Their investigation is active and ongoing. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and determine the cause of death."
