(March 4, 2007) -- LBPD has received hundreds of calls on a special telephone tip line -- (562) 570-7878 -- staffed around clock to receive information regarding a sexual assault that occurred Feb. 28 at about 5:45 p.m. in the area of Loma Ave. and 8th St. LBPD Public Information Officer Jackie Bezart says telephone tips are taken in, immediately assessed...and detectives and officers are dispatched in response.

The victim in the case, an 11 year old girl, helped LBPD create this composite suspect sketch. Have you seen this man? Do you know who he is? He's described as a male white, 30-35 years old, 5’7" tall, 140 lbs. wearing a denim baseball cap.

LBPD says the 11 yr-old girl reported being approached by the suspect at knife point and ordered to a nearby alley where she was allegedly sexually assaulted numerous times, then threatened with bodily harm if she reported the incident.

LBPD says the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, so if you see him, call 9-1-1 immediately.
