Field of Dreams: 14 Yr Old Kadin Nicolau -- Pony League Baseball Player Who Survived Near-Fatal May 2011 Accident (Carson St./Studebaker Rd.) -- Tosses Out Ceremonial First Pitch At LB Pony Baseball's Season Opener

(March 4, 2012) -- It was a miraculous and emotional moment at the season opener of Long Beach Pony baseball today (March 4) at Whaley Park -- with a big crowd present to witness it -- as Kadin Nicolau, the Lakewood boy who was seriously injured when hit by a car last May, returned to the baseball diamond and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Councilman Patrick O'Donnell was the catcher for Kadin's pitch.

Kadin (now age 14) wasn't expected to survive his injuries, but he did...and continues to show steady progress, his parents calling each day a miracle.
