Vice Mayor Lowenthal On A Possible Run For Mayor in 2014

The Business Journal story was mentioned by Janet Ballantyne, one of Vice Mayor Lowenthal's opponents, during a March 26 2nd district City Council candidates forum. During her closing statement at the 2nd district candidate forum, candidate Janet Ballantyne mentioned the Vice Mayor's Business Journal interview regarding a possible Mayoral run by Lowenthal in 2014 and commented as follows:

"I really think that's sad if that's true because we really need someone in this position who's fully committed to the position and it would be sad to waste all of this time and energy for someone who's just going to abandon it actually in the next twelve months because it would take approximately that to get ready for the next race."
