(Mar. 7, 2014, 9:15 p.m.) -- A 19 year old woman was assaulted, battered and robbed in an East Long Beach residential apartment complex very close to LBPD's Los Coyotes Diagonal East Division police station (4th Council district) and LBPD is seeking the public's help in identifying two persons it calls "subjects of interest" (artist sketches below) wanted for questioning in connection with what took place.

[LBPD release text] On Monday, March 3, 2014, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a call of an assault and battery that occurred to a female in the 2000 block of Beverly Plaza.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the victim, a 19-year-old Long Beach resident, was walking through the complex while speaking on her cell phone when she was approached by a male subject who engaged her in a brief conversation.

Suddenly, without provocation, a second subject physically assaulted her, repeatedly, and she lost consciousness. The victim sustained significant facial injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

It appears that at some point during the assault, the victim's cell phone was taken. No weapons were seen during the incident.

Prior to the incident, two suspicious looking male subjects were seen walking on the grounds of the complex.
