(Mar. 17, 2014) -- LBPD today announced the arrest of two persons in the case of a woman assaulted, beaten and robbed as she walked through an apartment complex roughly a block of so from LBPD's East Division station.
The arrests were made Mar. 12 -- barely a block from LBPD's East Division police station -- when a 20 year old man (adult) and a 15 year old juvenile were taken into custody for trespassing. LBPD detectives learned more during their investigation, and the L.A. County District Attorney's office has now filed attempted murder, battery with serious injury, assault by means of committing great bodily injury, and robbery against the man while the matter remains under investigation regarding the 15-year-old juvenile who was with the now-charged defendant at the time of the assault (and was released to his parents on March 12.)
The arrests come after LBPD released composite sketches of the persons of interest wanted in connection with its investigation...and LBPD says a resident saw the sketches and picked up the phone without hesitation, [LBPD release text] ...The arrests were made after releasing composite sketches of two persons of interest wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation.
