UPDATE: LBPD Says Preliminary Information Indicates NLB Husband-Wife Murder-Suicide, 5800 block Rose Ave.

(Mar. 7, 2014, 4:15 p.m.) -- Following up on a story reported on LBREPORT.com's front page yesterday (Mar. 6) with follow-up this morning (Mar. 7), LBPD says preliminary information indciates a husband-wife murder-suicide took place on Mar 6 in the 5800 block of Rose Ave.

[LBPD release text] On Thursday, March 6, 2014, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to an unknown trouble call at a residence in the 5800 block of Rose Avenue and discovered two deceased individuals. Due to the circumstances, Homicide detectives were called to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates a murder-suicide occurred. Forty-seven-year-old Javier Perez appeared to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper torso. Forty-three-year-old Kristie Michelle Perez appeared to have sustained two gunshot wounds to the torso. The two were married and resided in Long Beach.

(Mar. 7, 2014, updated 1:20 a.m.) -- As reported on LBREPORT.com's front page yesterday afternoon (Mar. 6), LBPD was investigating at a NLB residence where two deceased persons were discovered inside.

Speculation is a murder/suicide but there's no official confirmation in the midnight hour Mar. 7.

In early information, LBPD Public Info Officer Marlene Arrona said that at about 3:30 p.m. on Mar. 6, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5800 block of Rose Avenue regarding "unknown trouble"...and found the two deceased persons.
