(Mar. 7, 2015) -- Campaign contribution reports showing sums collected through Feb. 28 in LB's 4th district "winner take all" special election indicate:
A number of LB business interests have lined up behind Daryl Supernaw (details below.) Mr. Supernaw reported $7,207 cash in hand (includes $2,885 of his own money loaned to the campaign) and no unpaid bills. Mr. Supernaw was recently endorsed by the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Long Beach Business Journal, the Beachcomber and long-time former 4th dist. Councilman/former LBCC Trustee Dr. Tom Clark.
Politically active unions and Dem political groups dominated Herlinda Chico's $28,680 cash in hand. Her campaign owes no loans but reported $14,802 in unpaid bills. Ms. Chico has been endorsed by five incumbent LB Councilmembers (Gonzalez, Price, Uranga, Austin and Richardson), political action committees of unions representing LB police officers, firefighters, longshore workers, teamsters and others plus several Democrat party groups. (Ms. Chico's contributions listed below include a number of large labor contributions reported in February by LBREPORT.com.)
(A third candidate in the race, Richard Lindemann, has said he will accept no campaign contributions.)
