Suspected Stolen Vehicle Leads LBPD On Pursuit, Ending When Suspect Vehicle Containing Two Female Occupants Crashes Into Another Vehicle At Ximeno/10th, Seriously Injuring Uninvolved Vehicle's Driver

(Mar. 13, 2016, 10:10 p.m.) -- Here are further details on tonight's (Sun. Mar. 13) early evening pursuit. LBPD evening Watch Commander Lt. Kevin Coy tells LBREPORT.com that at about 7:16 p.m., patrol officers located a reported stolen vehicle, that was also suspected of being involved in an assault with a deadly weapon call earlier in the day.

Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop; the driver allegedly fled, and the pursuit began at Atlantic Ave./New York Ave. (just north of 14th St.) The pursuit terminated [at approx. 7:30 p.m., per previous info below] with a traffic collision in the area of 10th St./Ximeno Ave.

The occupants of the suspect vehicle were both female juveniles; they now face charges to be determined likely including felony evading. Further below.

(Mar. 13, 2016, 9:10 p.m.) -- Initial information is sketchy, but LBREPORT.com has learned (via LBPD PIO Sgt. Megan Zabel) that an LBPD pursuit began at roughly 7:20 p.m. and ended at about 7:30 p.m. when the suspected stolen vehicle crashed into another vehicle in the area of 10th St./Ximeno (near Wilson High).

LBFD Public Information Officer Firefighter Brian Fisk referred questions about the details of the pursuit to LBPD but says the driver of the vehicle not involved in the PD pursuit, [updated info] a female driver, was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

LBFD PIO Fisk says the vehicle involved in the PD pursuit contained two female occupants who were transported to a hospital with less serious injuries.
