(March 16, 2017, 3:25 p.m.) -- LB Airport is offering Southwest Airlines two flight slots, and will put Delta Airlines and JetBlue on a waiting list, as American Airlines has indicated it will reduce its LB Airport flights and is returning two of their five permanent slots. Southwest was offered the two permanent slots "because of their status as a "new entrant carrier" at LGB, a City release states.

In accordance with City Council Resolution C-28465, these two permanent flight slots have been offered to Southwest Airlines because of their status as a "new entrant carrier" at the Airport. So, under LB's Airport ordinance in terms of LGB's current major commercial carriers (out of the current 41 permanent + 9 supplemental = 50 allocatable flight slots for large aircraft over 75,000 pounds:
