(May 3, 2001, posted 6:45 p.m.) -- A midafternoon car to car shooting in NLB on Paramount Blvd. near the 91 freeway has left a 48 year old man dead after being hit by multiple rounds and crashing his car.

LBPD told LBReport.com that at about 3:50 p.m., witnesses reported two vehicles northbound on Paramount Blvd and heard shots coming from one of the vehicles.

The victims' vehicle ended up crashing into two parked cars roughly 100 yards north of the 91 freeway. The victim/driver, a 48 year old man, was struck in the upper torso multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said a suspect vehicle, described only as a white vehicle and possibly a pickup, was last seen heading north on Paramount Blvd.
