LBPD Asks: Have You Seen This Lost, Mute, Mentally Challenged LB Teen?
(May 12, 2003) -- LBPD is asking for the public's help in finding Sokhom Rem, a mute 19-year old male with the mental capacity of a 7-year-old.
Police say in a written release that Sokhom Rem was last seen on Thursday May 8 at about 8:25 p.m. at his home in the 2000 block of Orange Ave. before walking away.

- Sokhom Rem is Cambodian, 5’6", 130 lbs., black hair, brown eyes.
- He was wearing a black, long sleeve fleece shirt, khaki pants and black open-toe sandals.
- He does not speak.
- He has limited hearing, can understand Cambodian (Khmer) but understands very little English.
- He likes to ride the bus and may have a bus pass.
- He likes potato chips and may frequent convenience or liquor stores.
- He's easily frightened by people, and has a tendency to run away when approached.
