City Staff Proposes Permitting Secondary Housing Units Up to 25% Size of Primary Residence

(May 20, 2004) -- In response to the Converta-Belle housing concept (reported in March by LBReport.com, City Hall's Dept. of Planning & Building staff has indicated it will recommend to the Planning Commission at its Thursday May 20 afternoon meeting that LB's zoning code allow construction of secondary housing units up to 25% (up from 10%) the area of the primary residence (up to 640 square feet).

City staff is simultaneously recommending that the City Council not proceed with the Converta-Belle multi-unit condominium proposal.

LBReport.com posts city staff's report below in pdf form.

The Planning Commission could vote on the item and make recommendations...but a zoning code change would ultimately require a City Council vote.
