City Hall Treasurer Sadro Leaving LB For La Habra Finance Director Post

(May 19, 2004) -- LBReport.com has learned that LB City Treasurer Jim Sadro is leaving to accept a position as Finance Director for the City of La Habra.

Mr. Sadro told LBReport.com that two things prompted the move: the new position offers broader career opportunities and he grew up and lives in the area.

"Long Beach has a truly great staff and the Treasurer's Dept. will be in very good hands," Mr. Sadro said.

He said he didn't go looking for the job...but spotted an announcement (the type that routinely come around) about three months ago and couldn't pass up the opportunity.

What about other recent LB City Hall management departures, including LB Finance Director/CFO Bob Torrez (leaving for a post in the private sector)? "No, no, my decision really isn't related," Mr. Sadro said, reiterating that career and geographic factors really are the basis for his decision.

Mr. Sadro said his departure is scheduled for June 4.
