(May 28, 2004) -- A school bus carrying a four year old child for LBUSD -- and equipped with a child safety seat to restrain the child -- collided with a car at Magnolia Ave. and 7th St., overturned onto its side...and the child aboard and bus driver were NOT injured.

LBFD Public Information Officer Wayne Chaney says the accident occurred shortly after noon and Engine 1 arrived within two minutes, rapidly joined by Rescue 1 and Truck 1.

The 20-passenger school bus was one of those equipped with child safety seats...and is a Class II model with top, rear and side emergency exits.
