El Dorado Area Driver Encounters Duct-Tape Wielding Kids...And Sticky Nuisance

(May 29, 2005) -- They're not quite gun wielding gangsters: they're duct-tape wielding ELB kids who've seriously annoyed at least one couple driving home on Saturday night (May 28).

An LBReport.com reader reports seeing some kids in the middle of the street in an ELB neighborhood near El Dorado Park "and we slowed down to be careful, but when we reached the area where we saw them they were gone. Instead, they had laid out duct-tape in the middle of the street and as luck would have it we ran over it perfectly causing us to have a serious time of removing it."

The reader says elderly people in the area and other teens racing the streets make the prank potentially more dangerous. "I think we were very fortunate despite the nuisance of not being able to drive on and the time it took to remove it," the reader says, adding:

"Maybe we can remind parents that bored teenagers can get themselves into trouble and to be aware of where there kids are and what their kids are doing. We don't want any unfortunate accidents to start the summer off this year. I have a neighbor in her 90's and if this would have happened to her it could have been a lot worse."
