(May 20, 2016, 10:55 a.m.) -- As flashed on our front page earlier this morning (May 19), Long Beach Firefighters and LBFD Fireboats joined firefighters from the OC Fire Authority and Huntington Beach who battled and knocked down a blaze that broke out at the closed-Ruby's restaurant at the seaward end of the Seal Beach Pier.
The OC Fire Authority Tweeted that the fire started at about 7:35 a.m...and 70 firefighters from OCFA, Huntington Beach and Long Beach, plus four fire boats from LB Fire, 1 from the OC Sheriffs Dept. and a Seal Beach Lifeguard Boat responded.

LBFD Tweeted that LB Fire Boat 20 -- the largest fire boat on the west coast -- and other LBFD resources and Marine Division responded.

OCFA reported the fire was under control at 9:05 a.m...and one Firefighter was injured.
