PIO Chavarria says it's unknown if the incidents are related but it's part of the ongoing-investigation.
The two armed robberies come just over a month after an armed robbery in the 5800 block of Cherry Ave. (9th dist., just north of 8th district border) in which five male suspects (unclear if adults or juveniles) wearing ski masks allegedly robbed a family-owned restaurant, reportedly putting guns to the heads of at least some of the employees.
