(May 1, 2018) -- Two men were shot and wounded in the midnight hour this morning (May 1) in uptown Bixby Knolls (just north of San Antonio Rd. between Atlantic Ave. and LB Blvd. (8th Council district.)

LBPD Public Information Office Sgt. Brad Johnson tells LBREPORT.com that on May 1 officers responded at 12:20 a.m. to the 4300 block of Elm Ave. regarding reports of gunshots heard in front of the location...and on arrival officers spotted a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed without lights.

After a short pursuit, officers found a victim of the shooting (a man/adult) in the vehicle, being transported to local hospital.

Officers learned a second victim (a man/adult) transported himself to the same hospital.

Both victims sustained what LBPD describes as non-life threatening injuries.

LBPD says motive is currently unknown...and police are investigating what took place as possibly gang related.
