(May 5, 2018, 5:45 a.m.) -- Two vehicles were hit when someone fired shots in the 5800 block of Orange Ave. just north of South St. (which is the dividing-line between the 9th (Richardson) and 8th (Austin) Council districts.)

LBPD Watch Commander Lt. Dina Zapalski tells LBREPORT.com that officers responded at about 10:30 p.m. May 4; no individuals appear to have been hit by the rounds.

On Feb. 4, 2018, the South St./Orange Ave. neighborhood had two separate shootings about two hours apart in which men (adults) were wounded. One was at South St./Orange Ave. and the other was in the 1100 block E. South St. (at roughly Lewis/Cerritos Aves.) LBPD said it was investigating these two shootings as possibly gang related.

On March 4, 2018, a triple shooting at a residence on Orange Ave./53rd St. left two men dead, one wounded.
