• LB city propositions T (Recreation Comm'n) and U (Preference in bidders). Both measures pass.

• Water Replenishment District Bd. of Directors. Division #3. Norm Ryan is elected to the Water Replenishment District.

• CA state races. LB area Assembly incumbents Jenny Oropeza (55th dist.) & Alan Lowenthal (54th dist.) are returned to office.

• Congress: 37th district and Congress: 46th district. Incumbent Congressmembers Juanita Millender-McDonald (37th district, Democrat) and Dana Rohrabacher (46th district, Republican) are returned to the House, elected to newly drawn districts (with Rohrabacher beating back a challenge from LB resident Gerrie Schipske). In the new Congress (beginning in Jan. 2003), Rep. Millender-McDonald will represent roughly 80% of LB, with Rep. Rohrabacher representing the eastern part of ELB, Los Altos and Belmont Shore. Rep. Ed Royce will continue to represent the El Dorado estates area.
