LBPD Nabs Bixby Knolls, NLB Attempted Murder & Robbery Suspects
(November 2, 2002) -- LBPD has announced the arrest of two suspects wanted in connection with recent crimes in Bixby Knolls and NLB.
On October 29 at 5:18 p.m., two suspects, one armed with a gun, allegedly entered a gas station market in the 6600 block of LB Blvd. They were unsuccessful and left the market.
Less than an hour and a half later, on October 29 at 6:41 p.m., the same two suspects allegedly entered a liquor store in the 3500 block of LB Blvd. and ordered the clerk to surrender money at gunpoint. Police say the clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money...and the suspect shot the clerk.
Detectives from LBPD's Career Criminal Apprehension Team (CCAT) arrested two suspects allegedly involved in these crimes: Jamal Simms (22, Compton) and Eugene Johnson (21, Lynwood). They were charged with attempted murder and robbery.
