LBPD Discovers Suspected Small Methamphetamine Lab Items in ELB

(Nov. 9, 2003) -- LBPD discovered suspected small methamphetamine lab items in ELB today (Nov. 9).

LBPD Public Information Officer Jana Blair says officers came to a residence in the 3600 block of Stearnlee Ave. looking for a female resident with an outstanding narcotics warrant. She was not at the residence...but police discovered items that, although small, they believe fit the criteria of methamphetamine items.

LBPD along with Cal. Dept. of Justice (part of lab team) and LBFD will remove the items and do any clean up necessary.

Police say a male subject was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was taken into custody. Police say it's uncertain if he resided at the residence.

Investigators will be looking into who had ownership of the suspected lab items, PIO Blair said.
