(Nov. 28, 2003, initial post 10:20 a.m.) -- An off-duty San Marino police officer was involved in a solo vehicle accident on the westbound 91 freeway near Paramount Blvd., causing the officer to be ejected from the car.

Details are sketchy as we post. The off-duty officer was transferred to a local hospital in critical condition.

The circumstances and cause of the accident are currently undetermined.
