(Nov. 30, 2006) -- Snow in Bixby Knolls is coming on Dec. 3. The Bixby Knolls Improvement Ass'n promises thirty tons of man-made snow -- complete with sled runs and a snowfield for classic family winter fun -- plus a giant open air festival along Atlantic Ave. between Carson St. and San Antonio drive this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It's a LB tradition on the first Sunday in December.
Here's the way it looked in December 2005.
The event lets LB kids experience a cold, wet winter wonderland even on a sunny day. (As of Friday morning, the weather service forecasts 75 degrees and sunshine for this coming Sunday).
The event draws big crowds (photo from 2005). The 2006 event is expected to include artisans, antique vendors, food purveyors and live entertainment.
Santa Claus (2005 edition in photo) will also stop by so children can make their special requests.
