(Nov. 30, 2006) -- Thanks to additional funds from It’s A Grind Coffee House Franchises, Animal Lover Thomas Konig (Montecito, CA), LB animal behavior expert Miriam Yarden and many others, Friends of LB Animals says the reward has now been doubled -- growing from $5,000 to $10,000 -- for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burning deaths of two Chihuahua dogs on November 5, 2006 in a NW LB alley.
FoLBA has called the burning deaths of the dogs "one of the most blatant and cruelly planned" acts of animal cruelty that it's ever witnessed in its nearly two decades of work in LB.
As previously reported by LBReport.com, LBFD has called what took place an appalling act. The two small Chihuahua dogs were found in a burned-out animal carrying cage in an alley to the rear of 200 E. Barclay (south of 91 and west of 710 freeways, west of L.A. river, east of LB Blvd.)
There were no ID tags on the dogs or the cage.
Anyone missing their small dogs or with any information on this matter is urged to call LBFD's arson hotline at (562) 570-2582.
