(Nov. 21, 2006) -- LBPD says a pair of forgery suspects rolled away on two Segway i2 personal transporters rented from a LB Segway business, allegedly using an fraudulently obtained credit card. | Photo source: LBPD |
In a release, LBPD says that on Nov. 5, the two suspects rented the Segways, paid for the rental using a credit card...and on Nov. 12 failed to return the Segways (valued at $5,000 each).
When the business charged their value on the credit card, the account had been closed. Further investigation indicated the card was obtained with fraudulent information. The credit card firm sustained a loss of about $11,000 in total charges on the card.
LBPD describes both suspects as male Caucasians, 30-35 years old, about 5’10", weighing between 160 to 165 pounds. One suspect was wearing a yellow shirt with khaki shorts and used the name "Greg Reed." The other suspect was wearing a gray shirt with khaki cargo pants and used the name "Collin Donahue."
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Loren Dawson of LBPD's Forgery/Fraud Detail at (562) 570-7330.
