(Nov. 14, 2007) -- With the strike by the Writers Guild of America persisting, LB photojournalist Daniel deBoom captured one of the possibly-soon-to-be shrinking number of LB location shoots.
A crew was filming the TV show Life (NBC, Wednesdays @ 10 p.m.) at 1st St/Elm Ave. in LB's East Village. The crane was used to stabilize a car as actor Damian Lewis shot some of his scenes strapped-in upside down.

Mr. Lewis, who stars as "Detective Charlie Crews" on the show, is nearby as an indispensable Hollywood "grip" handles the hardware.

LB Film Commissioner Tasha Day notes for LBReport.com that the strike hasn't directly affected LB -- yet -- and a number of shows including Life, CSI Miami, Cane, Cold Case and others can still be seen filming here. However these and other one hour dramas usually write only a week or two in advance of shooting. That means their filming may fade out around Thanksgiving if the strike isn't settled soon.
Photojournalist deBoom says he was told that Life will end with 11 episodes, not the expected 12.
