(Nov. 22, 2015) -- A memorial display -- flowers, notes, photos -- was visible on Saturday (Nov. 21) alongside a driveway next to a bank wall in the East Long Beach / Los Altos shopping center (2200 block Bellflower Blvd.) to mark the passing of a man seen frequently at the location.

We watched as a few drivers stopped to view the display. We asked if they knew the man. Some said they recognized him; one woman said she was told that he'd been living on the streets for a long time, perhaps five years.

Someone who apparently knew his name and some personal details made it part of the display. It indicated his name was Richard Clough, born Sept. 19, 1946, died Nov. 3, 2015.
