(November 10, 2016, 7:50 p.m.) -- As reported and updated on our front page earlier today (Nov. 10), LBPD took a suspect into custody without further incident after LBPD and SWAT responded to the 3900 block of Country Club Dr. (Los Cerritos neighborhood) this morning where a person was heard screaming in the garage of a vacant residence. That took place.after a vehicle struck an attached garage in the 400 block of W. San Antonio Dr. and the driver fled on foot.

And all of this took place after LBPD was dispatched to an alleged carjacking in the area of 46th St./Atlantic Ave...and LBPD subsequently determined that the same vehicle was involved in both incidents.

LBPD says natural gas was turned off to the residence due to information indicating that the suspect was threatening to blow up the garage and the odor of gasoline was in the air.
