(November 1, 2017, 5:10 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that a father and his two daughters, walking along 2nd St. at Nieto Ave. in Belmont Shore on Monday night (Oct. 30), found themselves confronted by a man, subsequently observed by police to be yelling and screaming, who allegedly physically attacked the father.
LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBREPORT.com: On 10/30/17 at approx. 6:30 p.m., officers responded to 2nd Street & Nieto Avenue regarding a battery call What took place prompted reports on social media with details not independently confirmed at this point by LBREPORT.com. We have learned that what occurred was of sufficient seriousness to trigger discussion at the Oct. 31 meeting of the Belmont Shore Business Association (details not immediately available.) Social network postings say other people on 2nd St. came to the familymembers' assistance, some men getting the alleged assailant off the father, and a woman walking the girls away from the scene.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department website indicates that the arrestee was booked on a charge level of misdemeanor. LASD's website also indicates that the same individual was previously arrested on:
