(UPDATED Nov. 10, 2017, 11:35 a.m. from Nov. 9 initial) -- In a release this morning (Nov. 10), LBPD provides this additional information after a horrible accident Thrusday (Nov. 9) in which a boy riding his bicycle in the area of Woodruff Ave. at Conant St. was killed, and a girl riding her bicycle with him was injured, when they were struck by a vehicle.
[Nov. 10 LBPD release text] On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at approx. 3:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Woodruff Avenue and Conant Street regarding an injury traffic collision between a vehicle and two bicyclists, which resulted in the death of one of the bicyclists. LBREPORT.com notes that the time of the accident (3:55 p.m.) was roughly about an hour before local sunset, having switched to standard time from daylight savings time less than a week ago.. The fatal collision occurred in a residential neighborhood. As indicated above, the intersection is controlled by a traffic light with a crosswalk. A few hours after the horrible event, votive candles and flowers were visible at the intersection. Further as we learn it.
