(Nov. 10, 2017, 2:20 p.m.) -- A steady stream of children and adults was visible at the SW corner of Conant St./Woodruff Ave. at midday Nov. 10, leaving heartfelt messages and flowers (adding to votive candles left night) after a terrible accident shortly before 4 p.m. Nov. 9 took the life of a boy riding his bicycle and injured a girl riding with him.
Adults (roughly the ages of parents and grandparents) stood mainly silently, some sobbing. Children chatted with other children, some apparently familiar with the boy who perished. Among their notes: "We hope you are happy in heaven." Another said, "I'm going to miss the sound of his tapping pencil in history. He was always the funniest kid in class." Another: "Rest in peace...Our thoughts and prayers to your family. God bless." [signed on behalf of a family.] . [Scroll down for further.] |
