(October 3, 2002) -- Two informative City Hall events collide on Wednesday night, October 9: a public opportunity to meet and dialogue with Acting City Manager Jerry Miller at LB's Neighborhood Resource Center (6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.) while Mayor Beverly O'Neill and other city staff host a public educational/informational forum on "Density and Housing" at Cesar Chavez Park (7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.)
Meet Acting City Manager Jerry Miller: The public is invited to an October 9 meeting and dialogue with Acting City Manager Jerry Miller at LB's Neighborhood Resource Center, 425 Atlantic Ave. (free parking behind the building) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Mr. Miller, who served as Assistant City Manager under City Manager Henry Taboada, becomes Acting City Manager on October 4 with Mr. Taboada's departure. A Neighborhood Resource Center release indicates Mr. Miller "will discuss the duties of the City Manager's office and participate in a Question and Answer Session."
The Neighborhood Resource Center is operated by the Neighborhood Services Bureau of City Hall's Community Development Department...and they say refreshments will be served. There's no charge, but reservations are strongly recommended. Do call (562) 570-1010 for reservations.
"Density and Housing: Mayor O'Neill's office has invited the public to attend "a series of educational/informative forums" with Mayor O'Neill and city staff, the first dealing with "Density and Housing" will be held October 9 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Park, 401 Golden Ave.
Scheduled keynote speakers include Beth Stochl, Manager of Housing Services, Jack Humphrey, Former Advanced Planning & Building Officer, along with other city staff on hand to answer questions.
