(October 14, 2002) -- Before dawn today, a 53-year old LB man was mortally wounded in the area of Santa Fe Ave. and Hill St. in the WLB portion of the 7th Council district.

LBPD says that at approximately 3:30 a.m., Larry Brewer, 53, of LB was found unconscious in the street with multiple stab wounds to his head and torso. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say that although the motive for the crime is unknown, they do not believe it was gang related. They are seeking witnesses who may have been in the area before the assault and may have seen or heard something unusual.
