(October 2, 2004) -- A shooting has taken place outside Lakewood High School, apparently following a Friday night football game.

Lakewood High School is part of the LB Unified School District but is within the City of Lakewood.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Lakewood office tells LBReport.com that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 1, multiple shots rang out in the area of Centralia St. near Eastbrook Ave. on the north side of campus.

A 14 year old boy standing among a group of people was struck. He was transported to a local hospital and is reported in stable condition.

L.A. County Sheriff Sgt. Jesse Martinez says an investigation is ongoing.
