(Oct. 28, 2005) -- A LB man beaten and robbed while walking home from a market on the night of October 26 managed to make it home...only to suffer a full cardiac arrest on October 27 at approximately 1 a.m. from which he could not be resuscitated.
LBFD says in a written release that Pedro Michel, 53, left his residence to go to the store on Wednesday night Oct. 26 and on his way, was confronted by a suspect or suspects who beat and robbed him.
Mr. Michel made his way home but didn't contact police to report the crime. At approximately 1:00 a.m. on October 27, a relative called for paramedics who responded to the 900 block of Ohio Ave. (one block west of Temple Ave., Rose Park area) and found Mr. Michel in full cardiac arrest. Life saving efforts proved unsuccessful.
