News Suspicious Fires, LBFD Arson Investigators Seek Public's Help
(October 18, 2006) -- LBFD says two unreleated fire incidents -- each appearing to be malicious in nature -- have arson investigators seeking the public's help.
A release from LBFD Capt./Public Information Officer Jim Arvizu says:
- The first incident collectively involves a series of car fires. Four vehicles in the vicinity of Golden Ave. and Willow St. were destroyed in a series of fires in the late evening or early morning hours between September 21st and October 13th.
- The second incident involves a second alarm fire at 1669 Cote Ave. on Sunday, October 15th, just after midnight. The commercial structure was heavily involved with fire and smoke and a vehicle was also destroyed in the blaze. The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and is currently being investigated as an arson fire.

LBFD asks anyone with information regarding either of these two fire incidents call its Arson Hotline at (562) 570-2582.
