(Oct. 27, 2006) -- LBPD is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a and sexual assault that took place in WLB.
LBPD says the events occurred on Sunday, Oct. 22 at a business in the area of PCH/Santa Fe Ave. at about 2:30 p.m. A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect -- a male Hispanic in his late teens or early 20's, 5’8” to 5’10” with a thin build -- entered the business with a handgun and robbed the store clerk.
The suspect allegedly forced the victim, a female in her 50's, into a secluded area inside the store and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect wore a dark colored ski mask over his face and fled the scene on a chrome BMX bicycle.
In view of the time and day of the crime (broad daylight on Sunday afternoon) and the suspect’s brazen conduct -- LBPD considers him extremely dangerous to the public. LBPD urges anyone who may have witnessed this crime or knows this armed and dangerous suspect to immediately call 9-1-1.
