(Oct. 29, 2007) -- LBReport.com provides below on-scene audio coverage of comments by 2nd district Council member Suja Lowenthal during the Oct. 28 "University by the Sea" event in which she discusses exploring possibilities for accessing and using the Jergins Pedestrian Tunnel (Ocean Blvd. @ Pine Ave.)
Council member Lowenthal spoke extemporaneously on the patio of Pine Ave.'s Mariposa restaurant at an impromptu event scheduled by Jr. Chamber of Commerce Beer & Politics organizers.
The sound clip, which includes a colloquy with University by the Sea co-organizer Ryan Smolar, runs just over seven minutes.
Recording conditions were less than optimal (on an outside patio with the wind rising) but Council member Lowenthal's statements are newsworthy and quite audible (just not up to NPR broadcast standards). We indicate edits (mainly for wind noise and some digressions) with a "whoosh" sound.
We've encoded the audio in the "real audio" format that should "stream" into your computer (minimizing download time).
