(Oct. 26, 2009) -- Following-up on police activity spotted by a reader, LBReport.com has learned that a man was fatally shot in the 1900 block of Cedar Ave. at early evening Monday (Oct. 26).
LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt notes that the following information is preliminary with further expected on Tuesday.
A male adult is believed to have been approached and shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was transported to a hospital by a family member...and pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing as we report late Monday night.
The most recent shooting comes five days after an 18 year old LB resident was shot to death in the 1800 block of Henderson Ave...two blocks west and one block south on Oct. 21.
LBPD asks anyone with information on the Oct. 26 Cedar Ave. shooting to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Mark McGuire and Hugo Cortes at (562) 570-7242.
