  • (Oct. 30, 2009, initial report) -- Three juveniles were shot outside ELB's Wilson High following its football game with Poly High on Friday night (Oct. 30).

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Dina Zapalski tells LBReport.com the three were shot at 10th and Ximeno at about 10 p.m. as the football game ended.

One juvenile was hospitalized in critical condition, two were hospitalized with non-life threatening wounds.

Following the shooting, groups of students were visible along Ximeno and Park Aves. talking mainly in hushed tones and texting and on cell phones. Virtually everyone we asked knew there had been a shooting with multiple victims (most said two people had been shot).

Officers interviewed young people who witnessed the events...while worried adults arrived to pick them up.

We saw a father escorting his daughter home at brisk walking speed; she was quietly composed; he was tight-lipped with visible displeasure.

Cars arrived with worried adults. "My nephew was here when someone was shot. Where is he?" a woman asked a school safety officer. "He's probably inside being interviewed," he replied...as the woman shook her head and parked and waited.

LBReport.com flashed word of the shooting on our front page (www.lbreport.com) within minutes. No suspect information as yet. Further as we learn it.

Meanwhile, and also earlier flashed on our front page (www.lbreport.com): there was SWAT activity area in the area of 4th/Bonito at around 9:30 p.m.
