Less than a week earlier at the South Wrigley Gateway (PCH is the dividing line between the 1st and 6th Council districts; north of PCH (6th district) is South Wrigley), a man was shot (Oct. 14) at the SW corner of PCH/Pacific (1st Council district). The location is across the street from the Oct. 19 flammable device crime scene (NW corner, 6th Council district).

By coincidence, a request by a firm to operate a car title loan business at the NW corner of PCH/Pacific has sparked controversy, with appeals by residents and the applicant heading for the City Council in the coming weeks.

In April 2012, fatal gunfire flew in the PCH/Pacific area when when a gunman allegedly opened fire on a man standing on the sidewalk, killing him...and on arrival an LBPD officer was met by gunfire (that narrowly missed the officer).

Again: if you have information about the Oct. 19 incendiary crime, LBFD would like to speak with you. Please call their Arson Investigators at 562-570-2582 or to remain anonymous visit www.lacrimestoppers.com.
