(Oct. 12, 2012, 6:55 p.m.) -- Two vehicles collided at Palo Verde Ave./Wardlow Rd., and one caromed into a third vehicle stopped at the intersection. Multiple LBFD units were on scene to treat multiple patients, including two adults and two children. The patients were transported to hospitals with what LBPD says are non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place just steps from Fire Stn. 18, which now only has a single paramedic unit. We watched as firefighters gently removed two children in the silver car.

LBPD Public Information Officer Lisa Massacani says the collision at about 3:15 p.m. involved a Toyota Tundra, a Toyota Corolla, and a Mercury Mountaineer.

Preliminary info is that the Tundra pick up was heading southbound on Palo Verde and the Corolla was heading westbound Wardlow when they collided.

The Mountaineer was stopped at a light and was struck by the Corolla after the initial collision.

Two women (adults) and two children [the latter from the silver vehicle] were transported with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Tundra and Corolla were towed...and no one was cited.
